Chris Moya, President & CEO Christopher “Chris” Moya is the President and CEO of the Independent Community Bankers Association of New Mexico ICBA/NM. Chris became President and CEO of ICBANM in January of 2022 after serving as the Executive Vice President of the Association for one year. Prior to his time at the ICBA/NM, Chris was on the regulatory side of the fence His most recent regulatory role was as the Director of the New Mexico Financial Institutions Division (FID) where he was appointed Director of the New Mexico FID in April of 2019, after having served as the Acting Director for 2 years. He joined FID in June of 2011 and held various roles as an Examiner, Mortgage Industry Manager, and as Deputy Director. Prior to entering the regulatory sector, Chris was in the mortgage industry in southern California. After several successful years in the private sector, he relocated back to New Mexico to raise his family. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from California State University San Marcos, An MBA from Eastern New Mexico University and is a graduate of the Western States School of Banking. |

Delis, Ph.D Dimitri Delis is responsible for evaluating economic trends, analyzing current economic issues and generating relative value strategies by integrating fixed income cross-sector trends with macro/economic analysis. He identifies/analyzes market dislocations across all fixed income asset classes and makes economic presentations to clients. Dimitri has been quoted in Bloomberg, Marketwatch and Reuters and is a frequent speaker at both regional and national level business/financial events. |

Michael L. Stevens, President and CEO Mike is responsible for the curriculum and overall direction of all GSBC programs. Working with an experienced team, he leads the school’s marketing strategy, financial management and corporate governance. Prior to GSBC, Stevens served as the senior executive vice president at the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) where he was responsible for leading the organization’s government relations, communications and professional development functions. Stevens also served as the principal deputy to the state banking member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council. |

Jimmy Sawyers, Chairman & Co-Founder Jimmy Sawyers helps banks tackle issues ranging from strategic technology planning and system selection to cybersecurity and enterprise risk management. A graduate of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee, Jimmy started his career in financial services technology at a fast-growing bank, where he was chosen at the young age of 21 to lead the bank’s operations and technology division, becoming one of the youngest officers in the history of the 100-year-old bank. Later, he directed the consulting division of a prominent CPA and consulting firm before joining a tech startup and then co-founding Sawyers & Jacobs LLC. Jimmy is on the faculty of the Barret Graduate School of Banking at Christian Brothers University, the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, The Southeastern School of Banking at Belmont University, the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia, and the Mississippi School of Banking at the University of Mississippi, where he teaches technology, payments, cybersecurity, and/or risk management courses at all five schools. Jimmy has authored two books on technology and risk management in community banks, is a frequent contributor to industry publications, and is a regular on the banking industry speaking circuit. Known as one of the most independent and informed voices in the industry, in addition to being nationally recognized for his entertaining presentations that engage, inform, and educate, Jimmy always delivers valuable takeaways, practical advice, and a fresh perspective on complex issues. |

Long-term Trends in Community Banking
Ryan Harwell, Vice President- Examinations and Inspections Ryan Harwell is responsible for community bank supervision supervising 157 community banks and over 600 bank holding companies. He has served in this role since March 2020. Mr. Harwell has spent the majority of his 19-year career in community bank supervision, and has also served in a leadership capacity over discount window and master account administration. He has also supported major Federal Reserve System initiatives such as FedNow. Mr. Harwell holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Economics from William Jewell College and an M.B.A. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. |
